Gurkhas are Nepalese soldiers in service with the British Armed Forces. They are unique in the British armed forces because they are recruited from outside of the Commonwealth.

History[]

The Gurkhas first saw combat in WWI (1914-1918) where they fought against the Germans. They also saw service in WWII against the Germans and Italians in North Africa and the Japanese in the Pacific and South East Asia. The Gurkhas were also deployed in other British conflicts in the 20th and 21st centuries such as the Korean War, Iraq War, and the War on Terror.

48th Gurkha Brigade was the primary Gurkha formation of the British Army with three Gurkha battalions. 5th Airborne Brigade has a Gurkha battalion. 1st Armored Division in wartime was reinforced by Gurkha Demonstration Coy Brecon and Gurkha Demonstration Coy Sandhurst. These were OPFOR units at various British Army training establishment. In wartime these two companies were to be used as NORTHAG Reserve demolition guards on the Leine river.

Overview[]

Like all 15 men infantry team, they pay a 5 to 10 point premium for extra health with little benefits. 15 men sections do not have extra DPS for their primary weapon even though logically they should. Once their moral drops to panicked they become useless, the 5 extra HP only help them waste more ammunition. The only redeeming fact from 15 men teams is the fact they survive helicopter crashes but it's very situational. On top of that, since mg rebalance Bren is one of the worst MG possible. Hence Gurkhas sees very little usage in the competitive meta.
