The Infanterikanonvagn 91 Järven is a 90mm-armed light tank destroyer that was developed by the Swedish Army from the late 60's.
Although it is classified as a tank destroyer, it can be considered a light tank by itself, more related to the Soviet BMP 685 prototype than its official counterparts like the West German Kanonenjagdpanzer.
History[]
Infanterikanonvagn 91 "infantry cannon wagon 91" was a Swedish Assault gun. These assault gun was produced by Hägglund and Söner and used common components from Pbv 302A. First prototypes were completed in 1969 with production running from 1975 until 1978 with 212 made.
These assault guns were equipped with Bofors KV90S73 90 mm L/54 rifled low pressure gun.
Infantry brigades were equipped with a Assault Gun Company equipped with 12 Infanterikanonvagn 91. Mechanized Brigade has two Assault gun companies.
