Overview[]
Armed with a reliable assault rifle; state of the art LAW and a decent AA launcher. This unit is the ultimate special forces unit dedicated to operate behind enemy line. Like any special forces unit, they can out run every infantry unit except other special forces. with their weaponry they can deal with any kind of threat they can possibly encounter. When spotted by a recon helicopter they can simply shoot it down with their AA. A more daring player can place them under the enemy aerial corridor to shoot down enemy jets as they enter the AO. But it's the assault rifle and the LAW that really make them shine compared to their western counter-part the SAS. Unlike the SAS, they have a better assault rifle with a higher fire rate, allowing them to fight their way out when cornered, as well as the RPG-29, which is the same launcher used by VDV '90, allowing them to ambush the most expensive tank there is. With it, they can also kill vehicles sent to hunt them down. Like the SAS, they are can be deployed with every airborne transport available to East-Germany, thus can be rapidly deployed where they are needed as a manpad, a AT infantry or just to fill a gap.
The drawback of this unit is its AA launcher with only 4 HE, so unlike the SAS who can shoot down a jet with only 2 missile, LStR-40 would require at least 3 hit without critical hits in order to kill a jet.
