The Mirage 2000C RDI is an air superiority fighter for France that was first introduced in Wargame: AirLand Battle.

History[]

The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French multirole, single-engine fourth-generation jet fighter manufactured by Dassault Aviation. It was designed as a lightweight fighter based on the Mirage III in the late 1970s for the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air).

The Mirage 2000 evolved into a multirole aircraft with several variants developed, with sales to a number of nations. The variants include Mirage 2000 the Air superiority fighter, the Mirage 2000N and 2000D strike variants, the improved Mirage 2000-5 and several export variants. Mirage 2000C RDI replaced the original RDM radar with a RDI (Radar Doppler à Impulsions) Radar.

Overview[]

AirLand Battle[]

The Mirage 2000C RDI is a prototype French Air Superiority Fighter available to French decks. It carries twin DEFA 550 30mm cannons, a pair of semi-active Super 530D long range air to air missiles and a pair of R.550 Magic II short range fire-and-forget missiles. Both of these missiles are highly accurate, but somewhat lacking in range and power. The Mirage 2000C's Good ECM gives the type decent protection from long range SAMs and AAMs. The chief drawbacks of the Mirage 2000C is its lack of a long-range fire-and-forget missile, and its relatively small missile compliment. While the Super 530D is accurate, it is semi-active, requiring the Mirage to continue to close with its target until the missile hits. This leaves the Mirage open to return fire. The 530D is also not particularly long ranged compared to threat missiles carried on similar-cost PACT fighters. The Mirage only carries four AAMs, requiring it to evac and reload fairly often. At 115 points per aircraft, however, the Mirage 2000C RDI provides players with good aerial combat capabilities for a decent price.

Red Dragon[]

The Mirage 2000C RDI in Wargame: Red Dragon is a French Air Superiority fighter available to French and BLUFOR decks. It carries the same loadout, but has received a small bump up in ECM to 40%. The type has Exceptional air detection and a tight turn radius. Its strengths and weaknesses are largely the same as in AirLand Battle.
