The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (조선민주주의인민공화국 Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk), commonly called North Korea, is a Juche single-party state in East Asia in the northern half of the Korean peninsula, north of South Korea, being bordered by the Korean DMZ.

North Korea is a playable nation in Wargame: Red Dragon.[1]

Overview[]

The North Korean army still depends on its vast forces, one of the largest in the world, to compensate for the technological gap between its South Korean and American adversaries. However, it played on the rivalry between the Chinese and the Soviets and acquired substantial military resources from both camps to make up for most of its weaknesses. The North Korean army therefore comprises an extraordinary mix of vehicles straight out of WW2 and modern prototypes (including the fearsome T-90S) from its communist neighbors. Beside those, North Korea is also working hard to develop their own domestic productions and have made some not-so-advanced but creative combinations.

Despite saying so, there is Chinese equipment that is unavailable to China itself in North Korea's arsenal (e.g. B-5, Type 69-III), while some other armaments from Pact allies and China have different stats and higher cost-effectiveness (e.g. T-72M, T-62D).
