The Z-5 is a Chinese Transport Helicopter that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

The Z-5 is a improved copy of the Soviet Mi-4. It was developed by Harbin HAMC from February 1958, and its first test flight took place on December 14, 1958. However, due to process quality issues (almost 100% defect rate) at that time, mass production did not begin until 1963-64. HAMC produced a total of 545 of Z-5 series helicopters (not counting defective products), including 87 for foreign-aid. Its production ceased in 1980.

The military version of the Z-5 is equipped with a 12.7mm MG (of course not PKT) turret on the belly, and pylons on each side for bombs or 57mm rocket pods (see Z-5A). The specific quantity of this model is unknown.
